Recently Declassified information about K o z
(obtained under the Freedom of Disinformation Ack of 1995.)
'Koz' is a shortened form of my last name, and Koz has been
the name I've been called by my friends since I was in the 4th or
5th grade. My name is Michael, but since some of my best friends
while growing up were 'Mike's and 'Michael's it just made the Koz
name stick even more. It also is wonderful cause if someone yells
"Hey Mike!" I don't even turn around, which is helpful cause we
Michaels are a dime a dozen. ;)
Why am I writing this Bio? well, mainly cause someone
recently pointed out they had read the Bio of me that I previously
uploaded, and I think it could use a little updating. :D I wrote
my original Bio on 11-29-91, and I had been online a total of 22
days. 22 days? sheesh, what the heck was the hurry? I guess I
just was so fascinated by the wonderful group of people I
discovered that I wanted to be a part of it. I've been here
playing, scorekeeping, and hosting for a little over 3 years right
now, and I still find Trivia a wonderful place. I am also writing
this bio to further torture myself in finding a text file format
that looks exactly the same on every platform, and have pretty
much given up. If you see little boxes on the far left, do not be
alarmed, they aren't dangerous, merely a tribute to cubists Braque
and Picasso. o;)
Well, in the interests of data conservation, let me salvage a
little from the last Bio, and let's see what's new! I'll put
stuff from the old Bio in quotes and use >> things. :)
>> "I have lived in many places but I spent the majority of my
'youth' in Rockland County, NY which is the absolute BOTTOM of NY
State on the west side of the Hudson River."
Absolutely true! However, if by the time I write my next bio
we have the capability of time travel, I will go back and grow up
in Hawaii.
>> "I am the youngest in my family, I was born in July of 1967,
and have two older sisters. I just LOVE music and it seems I may
need a new bookcase for my albums, I still buy Vinyl records for
stuff I can't get on C.D."
I am still the youngest (Mom swore off children after me) and I
do still love music, but I forget what it sounds like. Ya know,
nothing is harder than answering a music trivia question when the
stereo is on.. ya just can't tune it out. :D Besides, the stereo
is at least 8 feet from the computer, and it doesnt have a remote
control. Nuff said. Oh! I do still listen to music while
driving in my car; a mild-mannered '84 Thunderbird on the outside
and more reminiscent of the Batmobile inside. (with the exception
that the Batmobile had a much wimpier engine) ;>
>> "I am a Coca Cola paraphenalia collector and my shelves are
full of that kinda stuff. I also collect t-shirts, I've owned
over 500 but try to keep it down to under 200 nowadays."
I still collect Coca~Cola stuff, and am alot more picky now.
It's amazing how one day you just look at a 'collection' and say
"what a pile of JUNK!" Of course the stuff I throw out is bound
to become the most valuable. (I think that is subsection 24d of
Murphy's Law.) The T-shirts have been fooling around in my closet
I believe, multiplying, and they are reaching critical mass once
again. I am pushing 400, and I think it's time to make a
charitable donation. Hint: NEVER tell your relatives what you
collect. They'll get it for you. (will they ever!)
>> "I am an amateur photographer..."
I am? News to me. I don't think I've picked up a 35mm camera
in 2 years. Now I'm a re-born computer dweeb. I had an Atari 800
and Apple //c in my teens, but then went thru a strange and
unpredicted bout of normalcy. Now I'm happy to say I'm back, and
in love with my computer. It didn't come easy tho. For about a
year after getting my computer in 1991, I had problems that kept
me with a :( on my face. I'm feeling much better now!
>> "I've always wanted to be on Jeopardy and I consider Trivia
very good practice.. I can also justify the time and $$ spent in
trivia by saying I'll make it back when I become Jeopardy
champion. (yeah sure)"
ha! I don't think I'd dare apply to be on Jeopardy now. I
occassionally have dreams about it, and it always ends up with me
giving a joke answer that costs me the game. :)
>> "I'm a news junkie and political observer but I do not
affiliate myself with any party or "Left" or "Right". You may
think I'm nuts but the TV shows I make sure not to miss are "The
McLaughlin Group", "Late Night w/ Letterman", and "The Simpsons""
Amazing. Still True! The only difference is Letterman is
working for a different group of weasels now. Since I've been in
Trivia tho, I've cancelled all the premium channels I used to get
on cable. I simply wasn't watching them anymore, and besides,
most of the cool fliks are on AMC or Bravo.
One thing my Bio of 11-29-91 didn't talk about was Trivia game
hosting. Probably because I hadn't hosted one yet. ;> I'm
pushing 300 games now, and still get a huge kick out of writing n
hosting games. My education is in Biological Sciences, and it
shows a little in the Science games I host, but I find so much
interesting (more specifically, I find what other people know so
interesting) that each game has something new n different for me.
It is at this point I'm tempted to name the tons of people I have
had the good fortune to meet here, and thank them for the hours
and hours of hilarious company, but not only could I not name 'em
all, but I really hope that by this time tomorrow, there is
someone I've met that I would've needed to add. So let me thank
every person who gives a friendly hello to the new faces n old,
thanks to the people who almost make me splurt soda out my nose
when I really LOL, and thanks to all the wonderful people who put
a :) at the end of my sentences... cause that ain't a typing
habit; If the smile is there, it's on my face as well. :D
See ya in Trivia!!!
